Beard Transplant
A beard transplant is not just about adding hair to the face. It is about shaping structure, proportions, and how the face is perceived overall. At Estetica Lounge, we approach beard transplantation as part of facial design — where the beard is not simply placed, but carefully built to enhance the jawline, chin, and overall balance of the face.
The procedure is based on extracting grafts from the donor area, usually the back of the scalp, and implanting them into the beard area with precise control over angle, direction, and density. Compared to scalp transplants, the level of precision required here is higher. Facial hair grows at a different angle, has a different texture, and is always visible at close range. Any mistake — incorrect direction, excessive density, or unnatural lines — becomes immediately noticeable. That is why the key factor is not the number of grafts, but how they are distributed.
Before the procedure, at Estetica Lounge, we always perform a detailed consultation with a full design of the beard shape. Facial anatomy, natural hair growth, skin type, and the desired style are all taken into account — whether it is light stubble or a dense, well-defined beard. We do not copy trends. The design is adapted individually so that the result looks natural and does not require constant correction.
As with any transplant, the donor area is a limited resource. The follicles that are extracted do not grow back in the same location. This means the goal is not only to achieve the desired density in the beard area, but also to preserve a clean and natural appearance in the donor zone. We carefully control extraction patterns and avoid overharvesting to prevent visible thinning or depletion.
The procedure is performed in one day under local anesthesia, without hospitalization. It begins with design and marking of the beard shape, followed by graft extraction and then implantation. Each graft is placed manually according to the natural growth angle of facial hair, which is flatter than on the scalp and critical for achieving a natural look. This is highly detailed work that requires time and precision, as facial areas do not tolerate simplification.
Recovery is relatively fast. Small scabs form in the first days after the procedure — this is a normal healing response and they typically resolve within 7–10 days. By that time, the appearance becomes clean and patients can return to normal daily activities. As with scalp hair transplants, the transplanted hairs shed within 2–4 weeks. This is a standard phase known as shock loss. The follicles remain intact, and new growth begins around the third to fourth month. The final result develops over 9–12 months as the hair thickens and integrates into the natural beard.
A beard transplant can address several concerns: filling patchy areas, correcting asymmetry, creating a defined shape, and enhancing the jawline. It is also suitable for patients with genetically sparse or uneven facial hair growth. At the same time, expectations must be managed correctly — not every hair type can achieve the same density, and a professional approach always includes an honest evaluation before the procedure.
A well-executed beard transplant should not look like a transplant. It should appear as natural facial hair growth, without harsh lines, excessive density, or an artificial pattern. This result is achieved not by the technique alone, but by attention to detail — direction, density, and transitions.
At Estetica Lounge, beard transplantation is not a mass procedure and not a quick way to “add hair.” It is a precise facial procedure where every zone matters. We build results that look natural at close range, require minimal maintenance, and remain consistent over time.
