DHI

DHI is a high-precision hair transplantation technique where graft extraction and implantation are combined into one continuous process. At Estetica Lounge, we use an implanter pen that allows each graft to be implanted immediately after extraction, without pre-opening channels. This provides full control over depth, angle, and direction at the exact moment of placement, allowing for highly refined work, especially in areas with existing hair.

Before any procedure, we always carry out basic medical preparation, including blood tests. This is a mandatory step that allows us to rule out contraindications, assess the patient’s overall condition, and ensure the procedure is performed safely. We do not skip this stage, even for smaller cases.

DHI is used in situations where the goal is not just to restore a hairline, but to precisely increase density and integrate new grafts into the existing hair structure. It is suitable for both men and women, particularly in cases of diffuse thinning, crown work, frontal zones, or temple areas where preserving existing hair is critical. This is not a mass technique — it is a refined tool designed for precision and control.

As with any hair transplant, the donor area is a limited resource. The follicles extracted from this zone do not grow back in the same location. They are redistributed, not regenerated. For this reason, at Estetica Lounge, we place strong emphasis on donor management, ensuring even extraction, accurate capacity calculation, and a long-term strategy that preserves natural appearance over time.

The procedure is completed within one day under local anesthesia and does not require hospitalization. It begins with consultation and precise planning of the recipient area, followed by graft extraction and immediate implantation using the implanter pen. Because the grafts are not left outside the body for long, their survival rate is higher, and tissue trauma is minimized.

Recovery after DHI is generally smooth. Since no channels are pre-created, tissue damage is reduced, leading to faster healing and a cleaner appearance within 7–10 days. However, like FUE, transplanted hairs go through a shedding phase within 2–4 weeks. This is a normal process known as shock loss. The follicles remain intact, and new growth begins around the third to fourth month. Over time, the hair thickens, density improves, and the final result is achieved within 9–12 months.

DHI is especially effective in areas that require high precision — the hairline, frontal zone, temples — as well as in cases where density needs to be increased without damaging existing hair. It is also widely used for corrective procedures to refine previous transplants in terms of direction, density, or overall balance.

It is important to understand that DHI is not a universal solution for every patient, nor is it simply a “better” version of other methods. It is a specialized tool that delivers superior results when applied to the right indications. Its success depends entirely on the experience of the team, control of the process, and proper planning.

At Estetica Lounge, we use DHI where it truly adds value — when precision, delicate integration, and a natural, undetectable result are required. It is not about speed or volume. It is about control, aesthetics, and long-term results.
